2. What we collect

From you (the tradesperson):

• Account info: email, password (encrypted), business name, trade type, phone, postcode.
• Business settings: hourly rate, VAT status, logo.
• Payment info: handled by Stripe — we never see your card details.
• Usage data: how you use the app, for support and improvement.

From your customers (when you enter their details):

• Name, email, phone, address.
• This is data you choose to enter; you confirm you have permission to do so.

3. How we use it

• To provide the UrTrade service to you.
• To process subscription payments (via Stripe).
• To send service emails (confirmation, payment receipts).
• To respond to support requests.
• To improve the service.

We do not sell your data or your customers' data to anyone.

4. Who we share it with

• Supabase — database hosting (UK/EU servers)
• Stripe — payment processing
• Resend — email sending
• Vercel — web hosting
• OpenAI — AI quote generation (text descriptions only, no personal data)

All of these are GDPR-compliant providers with appropriate safeguards.

5. How long we keep it

• Account data: while your account is active, plus 30 days after closure.
• Customer data you've entered: while your account is active.
• Payment records: 7 years (legal requirement for accounting).

6. Your rights under UK GDPR

You can:

• Request a copy of your data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your data (subject to legal exceptions)
• Object to processing
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies to:

• Keep you logged in (Supabase authentication)
• Remember your session and preferences

We do not use tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies. By using UrTrade, you accept our use of essential cookies. These are required for the service to function.

• All data transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
• Passwords are encrypted at rest.
• Database access is restricted and logged.
